I am personally devoted to my own academic and personal learning sucess. I am hugely passionate about learning and want to spread my own passion on to others. All people should be able to feel this and I hope that I can help make this possible. Additionally, I feel that every learner is unique and reachable-- it is my desire to assist students find the learning styles that work for them so that they may use it both in tutoring and in the rest of their lives. I have a bachelor's degree from the College of Saint Benedict. During my college education I worked for three years as a college writing tutor helping my students achieve academic excellence. Due to my degree and work experience I have ample experience and expertise in grammar, writing process and writing technique. I love working with children and helping fulfill their potential. I like at children as water that must be directed in the right direction. I will do this my trying to find research validated methods of teaching that teaching to all the learning styles. If the child does not learn the first time I will try again and again until they have got it. As a teacher with dyslexia I felt that I was unable to teach reading to my students. I went in search of more training and found Alphabetic Phonics a Orton Gillingham program. I have sense used what I learn in the almost 160 hours of training with 11 students and seen progress in all of them.

When most high school seniors were registering for classes, they had an easy agenda planned. My intentions were entirely different. I decided to challenge myself the final year and study more science coursework than was needed for me to sufficiently graduate. In addition, I was the kind of friend that was reliable in understanding course concepts, so most of my friends and some other peers were coming to me for help. In college, I continued to pursue my interest in business. Through out college I contributed to my church's youth group by helping in organizing and implementing their projects. I enjoy children and trying to teach them new and exciting things. At times, I understand that it requires patience to work with children, but if you are able to do that then chances of success are much more likely.
