Geometry is one of my top subjects!

I have been teaching math since 1986. I have experience in all levels of high school math, including 7 years of teaching Advanced Placement College level classes. Currently I am teaching Geometry, trigonometry and AP Statistics at St Benedict High School in Cordova. I have degrees in Mathematical Sciences and Statistics. I am not currently teaching Algebra or Pre-Cal, but I have several times am very proficient in these subjects. I also offer ACT prep tutoring.
Working one on one or in small groups always benefits the students more than the classroom enviroment.

I took 5 math classes in high school with 2 at the honors level. In undergrad I was 1 or 2 classes short of having a minor in math. I also helped friends who struggled in their respective math classes. I went on to use this education to help me earn my master's degree in business. I still use math in some form on a daily basis.

A Little Bit About Me...

During my experience as a tutor, I like dealing with the type of student who is willing to learn and put forth an effort. I like to show students how to solve the problem and then give them an opportunity to display what they have learned. Math is a difficult subject and it is important to learn the dynamics step by step. I would prefer to help the student who wants to learn and retain versus the crammer who wants to try to learn everything the night before a test. I would like to work with a student on a continuous basis so that I can see the progress being made and see how my tutoring has made a difference.
