As a Graduate of CSU Stanislaus I have a lot of experience with working with children. I have run my own music program with elementary students and had a lot of fun doing it. I have also run different camps and different high school groups. i love to help children with anything that they need help with. I love to work and teach children. I have taught music in public education for the last 15 years. I have been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years, and currently am the church pianist in Stockton, Ca. I love working with children of all ages. Math is my second love and I almost majored in math instead of music. Math was always easy for me in school. Although I don't enjoy writing, I am very strong in written English and enjoy proofreading papers. I strive to include various learning styles when working with children. Some students learn best by listening or writing, while others need movement or tactile experiences to help in comprehension. I have tutored children in reading last summer. It was one of the most gratifying things I have done. I worked with English as second language children ranging from ages 5 to 13. We used a lesson plan and several activities to help children in achieving their reading level goals. Also, in my undergrad experience, I excelled in writing and was very good with meeting deadlines. I am a very down to earth person especially when it comes to kids. I always try to lighten up the mood and make learning things interesting and fun.
