My comments on tutoring HTML : I taught this course at Remington College.

I have over 15 years as a succesful instructor and tutor (middle school, high school, under graduate and graduate students)of mathematics,computer science (computer programing)and business courses including accounting, finance, statistics,economis, medical dosage calculations, hospital information statistics, etc. I also founded my Company, Alpha Omega Education and Training Systems,Ltd., in 2001. Punctual - prepared and professional. I look at learning rep. styles of students (pictorial, word or kinesthehic). I try to make the learning experience as painless as possible (especially math). At Adult Basic and Literature Education, I serve as a math and grammar tutor in the GED and ESOL programs. Also, I assist the students on how to obtain basic computer techniques so that they can operate the computer. I am able to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and read French. As for my technical, web designing, and software knowledge, I have a background in computer troubleshooting, Adobe Photoshop, HMTL, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etcetera. For five years, I was a substitute teacher for grades K-5 in English as a Second Language, Special Education and Art classes. I used my communication skills to converse with and to translate Spanish/English language. I have a great joy in teaching student new skills and information and love to see how they catch on, in other words, have that light bulb moment.

To me, the most important thing is to be a good listener. I usually like to spend the first 5 to 10 minutes with a new student just chatting about their academic life and their study habits. That gives me a good sense of where they are, what areas they will likely be strong in and what areas where they will likely need further development. It also helps the student feel more comfortable.
After earning a BA in Creative Writing and a BA in English at Oberlin Colege, I taught for a year as a substitute within the Cleveland Municipal School District.
