The thrust of my academic and work experiences are in Education and Academic Services and Human Resources and Administration. I am currently employed as a full-time high school teacher with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. I am also working part-time as the Career-Based Intervention Coordinator, SAT/ACT Instructor and Home-School Tutor for VSH. I have 9 years extensive teaching experience as a faculty of High Schools and Colleges. I taught and supervised subjects and programs such as: English, English as Second Language (ESL), Career and College Counseling, Math, Human Behavior and Organization, Business Policies and Strategies, Management Information Systems, Business Finance, Economics and Production Management. A Little Bit About Me...

As a classroom aid, I was responsible for implementing the curriculum developed by the teacher. I also had the opportunity to work one-on-one with students who needed additional assistance. As an assistant teacher, my duties included but were not limited to curriculum development, facilitating parent teacher conferences, and accurate record keeping of the student's progress. To date, I have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology and two minors in sociology and justice studies. I also have a Masters degree in Public Administration; all of which have contributed to my proficiency in the areas of math, history and public policy as well as excellent communication and writing skills.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach and enjoy working with all age groups of children. I believe all children can learn through different methods of instruction. I believe in teaching children through hands on methods and through doing and discovery. I believe through positive reinforcement and praise children can meet their goals and there is no end to what they can achieve. I will continue to best meet the needs of the students I am given and to make their educational experience both rewarding and enjoyable.
As long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a teacher to help all age groups of children. I have both a BS and a Masters degree in the field of education. I have taught for many years as well as been a principal and a tutor in reading, math, and handwriting. I really enjoy my profession as I believe it is one of the most rewarding.

The Florida Writing Assessment was implemented in grades 4, 8, and 10 as required by a law passed by the 1990 legislature. Does your student need a tutor? Beginning in 2010, each essay was scored by one rater. In previous years, two raters were used and the scores were averaged. Prior to 2010, a student could have received a half-point score, such as 4.5; whereas since 2010, no half-point scores are possible. Additionally, beginning in 2010, each student within the same grade level was required to write an essay using the same mode of writing (narrative, expository, or persuasive).
