My comments on tutoring Typing Skills : I adapted a curriculum on how to learn how to type and to become proficient on the computer.

I have taught 5th Grade Math and Science, 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade as an Interventionist, Kindergarten, and most recently Advanced Math and Language Arts / ESOL/CIVICS in and Adult GED/HiSet program. I have the ability to motivate and light the fire of interest in my students by incorporating in my teaching full emersion projects. Using an approach that fully immerses my students in the subject they are learning gives them the opportunity to learn firsthand instead of being merely a receiver of information. I call this approach “Walk a mile”. I have used this approach in many of my student teaching as well as substituting experiences. A Little Bit About Me...

I truly enjoy all aspects of education and have been a teacher at a number of levels and in different cities for eight years. I have taught students in K-12 as well as in college/university. My teaching and tutoring experience has been both one-on-one and small group settings. I have a B.S. in Political Science and History as well as multiple Masters degrees and a Ph.D. in ancient languages, literature, and history. I love teaching children. I left working in a commerical insurance job to pursue my passion to work with students. I love to see children glow when they finally get a concept. You can see the light go off when they understand. This is exciting to me as well as the students. I see students, who have given up hope to learn, and become a behaviorial problem because of their inablitilites to read; which is fundamental to be successful in any subject.
