Because all students learn differently, it is important for me as a teacher to get to know each student to find out what fits their needs the best. I like to offer a variety of activities that appeal to the hands-on learns, as well as kids that need visual cues. I am a patient, encouraging and energetic teacher. In addition to the administrative experiences listed in my resume, my rapport with the people I serve has always been such that I am seen in their eyes as a 'big brother'. I have developed advanced communication skills and people-skills over the years, and am considered by all who know me as a very friendly person. I have trained mentors in para-professional counseling for many years. I have also taught languages as a volunteer. I am currently a Special Education student at Northern Illinois University. I at the beginning of the education program and think this would an excellent chance to start teaching. I have a vast background in science, being that my first major was biology.
