I have a deep passion for learning, and it's always my goal not only to help students learn skills but to find their inner motivation too. I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. I continued tutoring young students and adults in the 1990's, tutoring Basic Math, Basic and Intermediate Algebra, Basic Geometry, English Composition, Speech, Study Skills and the Sciences. In addition, tips were given to enhance test-taking skills in hard-to-Ace subjects like Economics. Many people have different teaching skills and techniques. I do not believe any technique to educate a child is better than any other technique. Each child learns differently. Understanding the fact that children learn differently is crucial. The teacher must be able to adapt to the child's learning style. I find that the most important aspect of teaching is to consider the student's perspective. It wasn't that long ago that I was a student myself, and I found the most effective teachers were the ones who were able to explain concepts in a variety of ways.
