Spelling is one of my top subjects! Because I used phonics to teach all four of my children to read, they have all become good spellers. I used Spelling Power which is a program good for ages K-12 and I would probably use it to help tutor your child as well. I have also used it to instruct a dyslexic adult reader and another adult learner whose first language is Chinese.

I have home schooled four children ( two of whom were foreign speaking adopted from Russian) through 12th grade. All four are now in college. Have a graduate degree in library science, the conservation of research materials and fine arts. I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. After graduating college I taught elementary K-8th grade in NYC. I taught for one year and decided to live Paris, France teaching English. I lived in Paris, France for 1.5 years then moved to Rome, Italy, again teaching English. My experiences were wonderful as I met people who really enjoyed learning English and needed it for work.
