I have taught high school students for five years now. However, I have taught college freshman for a year only. But, I do know what I am doing and I know how to help students. Each person learns at their own pace and in their own style. The key to learning is the desire to succeed. Sometimes this desire takes a little longer to catch on and grab a hold of students, but with determination and persistence anything is possible. A good sense of humor coupled with a caring style is what will make learning easier.
I understand how hard it is some students to learn in a structured environment. My own son was expelled from school during his 7th grade. At the same time my daughter was a straight A student throughout grade school, High school and college. It took my son a little longer to complete school.
