Mechanical Engineering Tutoring
Mechanical engineering requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, and structural analysis. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices and more. Harry P - Melbourne Beach, FL 32951 (2.4 mi) - Mechanical Engineering Tutor - $38.00/hr.
I have been driven to achieve the highest possible level of success in education, as indicated by my BS and MS degree in corporate training material covering all aspects of engineering. I applied this material in training a wide range of personnel. I also spent significant time writing and leading government proposals which require expert english and math skills. I look forward to expanding your child's capability to the fullest degree possible and to a positive and useful relationship with your child as well as you. And I look forward to meeting with you and devloping a special relationship with you with the goal of meeting all your expectations for your child. Throughout my professional career, I have enjoyed teaching and mentoring young engineers and other workers in advanced technologies. I believe now that it is time I gave back to other young students and, in particular, to you

Amanda D - Palm Bay, FL 32908 (9.2 mi) - Mechanical Engineering Tutor - $33.00/hr.
I enjoy being around others that love to learn. I pride myself in my skills and never turn someone down that is willing to learn. I believe that any student can learn what they want to learn if they are given a good chance and the right experiences. I have been taking math classes since my freshman year in high school. Math is by far my favorite subject. I have taken everything from pre-algebra to calculus, including Statistics. I am currently working as a Mechincal Engineer and would love to assist others with their math needs. I am also very advanced in the use of AutoCAD/Drafting for Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, and Surveying. I have had 8 years experience with the AutoCAD program, and would love to get involved with any high school student that needs a little extra help.

David S - Vero Beach, FL 32960 (20.2 mi) - Mechanical Engineering Tutor - $35.50/hr.
I believe that all subjects, especially math and the sciences are based on a core of basic fundamentals. I believe that until the fundamentals are understood that it is not possible to advance to the higher aspects of any subject. I enjoy teaching very much and believe that I have much to give back to young students. I am convinced that a good education is vital to becoming a constructive and well rounded adult citizen. I have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, and as such I am certified to teach all sciences and math at all grade levels in the State of Florida. My specialties in math are Algebra and Trigonmetry; my specialty in science is Physics. I was a substitute teacher from 4/08 through 5/09 in the Indian River School District. I tutored part time at various levels for the last two years. My other areas of knowledge include History, Geography and English, especially i

Radames L - Orlando, FL 32828 (46.5 mi) - Mechanical Engineering Tutor - $44.00/hr.
Over forty years of experience as an engineer and manager in the pharmaceutical and food manufacturing industries. Last position before retiring was as Engineering Manager for Kraft Foods Latin America. Academic experience includes two years as a full time instructor at the Univ. of Puerto Rico, and part time instructor at several institutions when my engineering career allowed me to. Also, for the last two years, I have been a part time instructor and math tutor at a community college in New York City. I really enjoy teaching and the interaction with students. I pride myself in being able to come up with examples, analogies, real world experiences or whatever is necessary to make a student understand the principle or concept that is being teached. The satisfaction and sense of accomplishment that I feel when the student "gets it" is immensurable. I feel that anybody can be tought anythi

Jessica V - Orlando, FL 32826 (50.2 mi) - Mechanical Engineering Tutor - $52.00/hr.
One of the most difficult things about math is comprehending the concept. Many learn through repetition, or visual demonstration. I would think that my tutoring skills involve both. Repetition allows one to get an idea of what they are doing and it also helps develop questions.
The questions help to get a full understanding of a concept.
Sometimes to further complete understanding of a concept visual demonstration is needed. Based on my previous experiences in tutoring elementary school students, most of the time they really don't know the concept and are just going through the motions.
If none of the two strategies mentioned above doesn't work I usually walk through everything slowly and find out where the problem is. In addition to my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering I am currently working towards my masters in the same field. I am specializing in Thermal Flu

Raymond R - WINTER PARK, FL 32792 (53.9 mi) - Mechanical Engineering Tutor - $58.50/hr.
I have worked part time as an adjunct instructor since the '70s, including 22 years with the Orlando Program of Florida Southern College, and 11 years with Valencia Community College. The later provided me with dozens of short courses in education.
I also completed and retired from a civilian career with the US Army and Navy, starting as an intern, and reaching Senior Executive levels.
Very recently I have been tutoring fifth grade and seventh grade students attending Lake Highland in Orlando. Also worked with math students working at Seminole State and Valencia. Students learn best from doing things. I try not to lecture, but to involve the student in the learning process. I can lecture, but I haven't found it to be as effective as other methods.
I very much prefer tutoring to classroom teaching, mostly because I am helping people learn what they want to learn, and solve pr
