Physics is one of my top subjects!

I am currently a college sophomore at Florida Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering so I know the problems a high school or school or college student would face in studies. Therefore, I will be able to communicate with m y students better and help them excel in studies and eliminate their weak points in any subject. I have no teaching style since I believe that to succeed one needs to seriously study and teach and cover your weakest subjects first.
I have taught high school students for five years now. However, I have taught college freshman for a year only. But, I do know what I am doing and I know how to help students. I am patient with everyone so I can communicate better and understand my students problems so, I have always succeeded in helping my students.

I enjoy helping people, particularly kids. It's a very good feeling to help kids understand so many of the concepts in science, math and computers that tend to stump them. I am an easy going and focused individual. I generally teach kids by relating the subject to something they are interested in. There is a very good example of this in the movie "Big", where Tom Hanks character is teaching algebra to a boy who likes basketball. This is a technique that I use frequently. I believe very strongly that kids need to understand the concepts underlying each problem so they can solve it through understanding and not just rote memorization.

A Little Bit About Me...

At college I worked as a tutor for two years in the areas of chemistry and mathematics. I earned BA's in chemistry and biochemistry and have some laboratory experience. Having been educated at a liberal arts school has also given me the opportunity to study philosophy and sociology. I also write well, as writing is emphasized in all disciplines of study at Knox. Previous to my college education, I was also active in my tutoring program in high school.
The most important part of teaching is to teach students the principle or concept behind a subject. I do not believe in making students memorize absurdly large lists of facts in order to pass a test. Learning should be more fundamental than that. When a student has been successfully taught something, the student should be able to solve an array of problems with a common theme.
