I have taken up to 201 but I have many deaf friends who have taught me more then a class ever could. I've had years of experience due to my love of English. I'd help my friends and underclassmen to understand a novel or get ideas to write a paper. I'd check their grammar and spelling, and offer advice about the overall style of the paper. Now, I'm studying to become a college professor of English and perhaps French. I'm willing to work with students at middle school and high school age who need help either writing or understanding English or grammar, or need help with an assigned book that they can't understand (ergo, Shakespeare).
Depends on the student. I'm very adaptable. To say I am or am not alone thing here would be to exclude those who don't like that style.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to learn, which is why I love teaching children. Every child learns differently, because of this, teaching is a learning process as well! I believe that students learn best through hands on activities that allow them to internalize the concepts they are struggling with. Whether it is using math manipulatives to understand multiplication and division or using letter tiles to understand consonant blends in reading, hands on activities are the best way to learn.
As an education major at Berea College, I volunteered my services as a tutor three nights a week in addition to my student teaching and education courses. I was also a Pre-Kindergarten teacher during the summer terms while I was in college. I am certified to teach all subjects grades K-5. I have my masters degree in Reading and Literacy Instruction.
