I have been a teacher for 7 years. I have taught in a small-town private, Christian two-room schoolhouse (K-8); I currently substitute teach for OPS, and have been to all but one school in the district. I have also tutored on and off over the years, both individually and in small groups, both privately and through school district or companies. I enjoy working with students in a smaller setting, especially one or two at a time, and helping them understand concepts and thus succeed in their schoolwork.
The process is just as important as the product. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is whatever will make the student comfortable and most effective.
At the age of 17, I am considered a Sophomore in college and will most likely be a commissioned Air Force Officer before I am 20 years old. I have aced classes in college English, Math, as well as some sciences. I have three younger siblings and I tend to help them with their homework if they need it. My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I've mentored six gifted students in math in the Lincoln Public Schools. The students were in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade and most of them were a year or two ahead in math.

I've been a Mentor with Lincoln Public Schools for over a year. Mentors function as one-on-one teachers for gifted students in an area of their strength. I've taught math to elementary school students (many of whom were in middle-school level math) and am also qualified as a Chinese mentor for all levels and a Social Studies mentor. I also work at the Kumon Math and Reading Center and primarily assist young students who are learning to read. In the past I have assisted Chinese students preparing for the SAT and TOEFL, and also tutored numerous subjects for high school students.
I try to find out what a student is interested in and incorporate that.
