I hold a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of New Orleans. In addition, I earned my Master's Degree in History from Southeastern Louisiana University in December of 2014. Literature is one of my top subjects! I have a passion for literature and teaching students how to read deeply to find out what the author was truly trying to say. Expert areas are British, American, and World literature.

I'm very laid back, but I know how to get results. I have always been a very disciplined student, but I realized pretty early in my academic career that unless I make the subject interesting for me, I'll never grasp the material. I make it a point to get to know every student so that I can personalize their learning style. The only way they'll learn and understand something is if they WANT to do so. I offer a different approach to things that students may not get in the classroom, to hopefully expand their interest in a subject they never thought they'd like.

More About This Tutor...

All throughout high school I tutored younger kids with homework or specific needs in classes. I'm very flexible and very hands-on with my teaching. As a visual learner, it helps me to have a visual aid whenever I can and I employ that in my teaching. My strategy is to make learning fun for the students. If I can't enjoy what I'm learning, then I won't learn it and as such I strive to make whatever I'm teaching enjoyable for the student.
