I believe that a teacher should be willing to do whatever is necessary for the student to understand the concept(s) being discussed. Students all learn different things in different ways. I have taught a wide range of students both in ages and in ethic backgrounds. I believe that any subject can be taught and understood in taught in a fashion best understood my the student.
I have worked both as a substitute teacher and as a certified teacher for around 15 years. I have taught a variety of different courses. I was certified to teach all sciences grades 7-12. I have spent many years as a graduate student and post-doctoral fellow teaching incoming students the chemistry and molecular methods involved in working in the laboratory. I have also spent some time tutoring students in chemistry here in Mobile AL. I am currently working as adjunct faculty at both Faulkner State and ITT Technical. At Faulkner I currently teach biology and at ITT Technical I teach an integrated science class which involoves physics, chemistry, and biology.
I love teaching. My style depends upon whether I am teaching a class or one on one. I like to utilize worksheets and or hands on experiments depending on the subject matter. I hope to foster a sense of excitement about science within my stuedents.
