I believe in using the differentiated approach to teaching--based upon the seven intelligences. I plan for all lessons being taught, and state the objectives on the board for each lesson. I present the lesson, allowing the students to interact and respond by activating prior knowledge, discussing points and inviting them to ask questions. Although each child may pursue differnet educational opportunities in later years, I believe that there is a core body of knowledge, presented to us in the curriculum, that each can and should be exposed to while they are in the lower. However, I realize that all children do not learn new concepts and strategies by the same methods or at the same rate as one another. For that reason, I support the use of differentiated instruction as a means to effectively communicate that knowledge.
