I completed a class in high school named Teach Cadet where I learned the basics about education and the importance of being a versatile teacher. I was able to work with children from head start to elementary level. I also was a member of two organizations at school where I worked with sixth graders about the importance of goals and worked with fourth graders about the importance of team work.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Virginia Tech where I majored in Biological Sciences. This included biology, physics, and chemistry as focus points. My tutoring experience has been volunteer work. Throughout my academic career I have always helped others, from explaining difficult concepts to peer reviewing papers in college. I have also been a substitute teacher at my local high school since 2007. I recently worked under a doctoral candidate on a research project about warblers. I graduated from high school with honors from a school that never pushed the effectiveness of attending college to students. I maintained my focus and attended Virginia State University in the fall of 2006. My mother was my inspiration, so much that I ventured towards science as my field of study. I chose to be a chemist, allowing myself to go above and beyond the norm. I succeeded as I came upon the completion of my undergraduate studies and obtaining a BS in Chemistry.
