I greatly enjoy seeing the students achieve their learning goals and their yearly progress In 2000, I began to teach special education and teaching special needs children with learning disabilities. I actually believe that having the ability to teach is a gift, and that Learning occurs from a variety of experiences and explorations. I generally use a teacher-centered approach to teaching; however, there are other times that I prefer to use a learner-centered approach as to meet the needs of my students and their learning styles. I often use a variety of teaching methods such as: group learning, peer review, role modeling, visual aids/hands-on, and mapping. As an educator, I nurture my students and provide an emotionally, stable atmosphere while maintaining high expectations for all.
