I like to be presented with the material at hand and evaluate what the child/student knows before I dive in. After this initial assessment, I take more of an interactive approach. I constantly offer feedback and guide the student in reaching the correct answers without just giving them away. If the problem calls for drawings or manipulatives, I utilize these resources to the fullest.
My area of expertise is the English language and grammar. I took two year's worth of Advanced Placement English classes during high school and made either 4's or 5's on both exams. My comments on tutoring Grammar : Having studied various languages, in addition to studying my own language (English), I am an expert of Grammar and linguistic variations thereof.

During my high school and university careers, I have focused primarily on languages and language acquisition. Reading Comprehension Tutor Seeks New Learners!

A Little Bit About Me...

I am patient but firm. In order to be a success in the business world, one must be able to write and speak the English language correctly. If the student knows English, everything else in general business can be taught. A Little Bit About Me...

As a childbirth educator I have developed and taught perinatal classes to adults of all levels of education. Teaching CPR and First Aid classes has given me the opportunity to work with lay and health professionals and tailor the teaching style to meet the needs of the individual student. As a parish nurse I have presented numerous health topics to a variety of church and civic groups.
In teaching childbirth classes as well as CPR and First Aid classes I have utilized lecture, audio-visuals, written materials, and demonstration/return demonstration methods of teaching. I have found that each individual has his or her own learning style and I like to tailor the class to the individual's style as much as possible.
