A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is based on reading then reviewing. At that point in time ask questions to see if the student has grasped the information being given. If not, answer questions then clarify. When reviewing information it is important to make sure the student knows reasoning behind subject matter so that they are understanding logic and not just memorizing information. In subjects that invloves math such as probability, chemistry, or statistics, I would do a few examples followed by letting the tutee working a few problems.
I have tutored fellow classmates in the past throughtout middle school and high school. While in graduate school, I acquired teaching experience as I taught a Counseling Theories course to undergraduate students for three semesters. I also taught an experiential counseling microskills course to students enrolled in a school counseling program. I have also provided mentorship for several counseling trainees over the last several years. I feel confident I could provide excellent tutoring services in statistics as I took numerous graduate level courses in statistics and research design. Moreover, given my level of education I believe I could provide more general tutoring services in other fields such as mathematics, english and science.
