I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. I have always strived to make my students feel comfortable and to take on the responsibility for their own learning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. This is the essence of my teaching: helping students see the big picture so that they can handle any new scenario. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a well round person; strong in geography and Latin American history. With my BA in Geography I would be able to help out with Physcial, World, GIS(Mapping) and Latin American History classes (12 cr.) Resent knowledge in medical terminology, medical office ethics, privacy, billing and coding. Most of my career has been in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) computer software that allows you to do diverse analytical and spatial applications. I also have been a tutor and substitute teacher, as well as a volunteer a Christian school library for grades K4-K5. My most recent profession was an office assistant. A Little Bit About Me...

During high school, I tutored for the Upward Bound program. I tutored fellow high school students in math, science, english, and history. I taught biology undergraduate laboratories during graduate school. My background is math and science. I have experience preparing exams/quizzes and grading exams, quizzes, and research papers. My math courses (taken, not taught) include Algebra, Calculus I, and Statistics (elementary and linear). My biology courses (taken and taught) include Morphology, Evolutionary Biology/Genetics, and Microbiology.
I am a visual learner, and so my first approach to teaching is using visual aids. I usually draw, use diagrams, or try to paint a mental picture for my students of what I'm trying to teach them.
