A Little Bit About Me...

I like to teach by example and give the student the opportunity to learn by doing. I do not do the work for the student, but instead allow him or her to do the work with my support until he or she is capable of doing the work independently. I am patient and thorough with my work. I do not get angry and I do not act strict with students. I also believe that I can learn from them just as they can learn from me, and therefore I always give them to chance to communicate their thoughts and feelings to me.

I love helping others with Spanish and I believe that there is no right way to help kids along in the language. Everyone is different. Personally I improved immensely after volunteering as a translator in a free clinic for migrants. Speaking with native speakers was very beneficial for me. I could not have come to that point however without a lot of hard work and studying. There are many ways to improve in language study and I would be ready and able to use all of them according to the student's needs.

I believe that no two students learn alike and the most important thing is to make sure students are having fun with learning. If learning is looked at as boring or hard students will try to avoid it, when learning is fun students learn without realising the work involved. I believe that students learn best when they are involved in the process. Therefore I like to put students in charge of their learning-whether it is presenting information gathered for a presentation or helping to develop the topics that will be discussed in a particular unit; as long as they are involved and not passive in the process students will learn. I believe it is my job to act as a guide not a dictator in a students education.
