Elementary Science is one of my top subjects! I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade Math and Science. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced and Intermediate math and language arts in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

My teaching philosophy starts out with essentialism which believes in a strong core curriculum and high academic standards. I believe it is important to have a strong foundation on which to build upon. After ensuring a strong foundation I tend to lean more towards progressivism. I believe students should be taught what is relevant today while becoming more independent learners, by utilizing problem solving skills and critical thinking. My personal style varies on the pupil. These may vary from simply being frustrated with the curriculum to a myriad of influences. My style is considered out of the box, meaning that if the standard method does not "click" with him/her, then I enjoy finding something of interest to them, to relate that to the subject at hand. Keeping a students interest is paramount to keep them enthusiastic about learning.

I hold a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Georgia Tech. I have two and a half years of experience, most of which is at the collegiate level. I am proficient at Introductory Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. I have a real understanding of these subjects; I have studied and applied them in senior level collegiate courses. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I believe that I am competent in various areas of biology and chemistry, and will be able to convey that competence. I have taught and tutored at my church and in other volunteer programs since high school. I also currently give drum lessons at a Stephen's Music Company.
I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.
