I am currently an undergrad at Texas Christian University working on my Bachelor's of Science in Movement Science. I have completed the following coursework at TCU: General Chemistry I & II Introductory Biology I Anatomical Kinesiology General Statistics General Psychology Psychology of Sport Foundations of Sport Injury Geography I American History 1877-present
My teaching style is very individualized based on the needs of the student. Some students need frequent breaks to be able to focus in for 15-20 min at a time while others can stay engaged for an entire hour.

A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored for two years at the Iowa State University Tutors Office, Iowa State University, Ames, IA. I tutored anatomy, physiology, biology, zoology. I taught for one year at Graceland University, Des Moines, IA
I don't have a style. When I left high school in rural Iowa I was told I was retarded and would never even be able to write a check. At age 38 when struggling through Iowa State my chem teacher sent me to be tested for learning disabilities and I had multiple learning disabilities but an above average IQ. I don't teach I allow the student to learn in an environment where they are listened to, talked with(not to) and treated like they have value and worth. I treat them the opposite way I was treated. And when they do well we cheer together!

A Little Bit About Me...

Soon after graduating the Vet Med Faculty and obtaining my DVM diploma, I started a career in university teaching at the same faculty, in the Department of Genetics. Between 1991 and 2002, I held a Teaching Assistant, Instructor, and then Assistant Professor position. I assisted and instructed undergraduate and graduate students in classroom and laboratory settings, revised curriculum and graduation requirements for the students, and created materials for lectures, seminars and final exams in Genetics. Also, I conducted and participated in interdisciplinary research projects and managed a laboratory for the diagnosis of genetic diseases in animals. As a Junior in college I made the decision to become a teacher. The decision was based on the observation that a majority of teachers are over worked and don't have the time to provide the individual attention some students require. I performed my student teaching at a small school called Central Heights. I taught Physical Education- grades K-8, Physical Education-Freshman Boys, and 3rd Grade-all subjects. I also performed in-class reading requirements in a 2nd Grade classroom. I have tutored on and off since graduation but due to my past employments have been unable to tutor in the last couple of years.
