I have worked with high school and college chemistry students doing tutoring for the last five years, and I have been a teaching assistant for honors general chemistry II for the past three years. I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children. As a mother, tutor, school volunteer I have always enjoyed interacting with children and young people. I love to watch them learn and grow confidence in themselves.
