I have taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grade and for 3 years I taught a second/third split class of exceptional students. I quit teaching for a short period because I adopted 2 children overseas. However, I worked part-time as a computer instructor for preschoolers for about 2 years. I believe learning is about confidence. I have seen numerous students doing poorly in courses because they were convinced that they were not capable of learning the subject matter. Small successes help to build confidence in order to move on to the subsequent challenges. I believe in starting with the basics, and making sure that the students truly grasps the subject matter before moving to more difficult concepts.
