I am a college graduate that has spent the past 8 years working in health and science education and development. During this time I have not only developed educational programs for low literacy and bilingual groups, written grants for government funding for Health educations, but I learned how to educate people of all types of literacy levels. I have tutored students of all ages in the areas of English, Biology and Health Science.
My teaching methods are structured and developed for each individual person. I believe that there are many ways to teach a student. I have served as a substitute teacher in Hayward, CA for 1 1/2 years. I worked as a tutor for Learning & Loving It in San Jose, CA for 3 years. I served as a tutor and teacher of adult education in Loganville, GA for 1 year. I am currently on the substitute teacher roster for the Vicksburg School District, and I have been so for two years.
I first introduce myself and get to know a little about the student I am tutoring. Then, I establish a baseline of what they have learned so that I can direct my attention to their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, I get into the material with the student and show them how and why the material is important and applicable in the world in which we live.
