Elementary Special Education Teacher

I have been teaching students with many different special needs for the past 19 years. My experience ranges from students with severe developmental delays to students with emotional disabilities. My experience has mostly been with students who have learning disabilities. I also have son that has an IEP for learning disabilities and is thriving now in school. I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade.
My teaching style is student centered. I try to figure out what work best for each student and go from there. If a student has a learning stye that is very hands on then I will try to make sure a portion of my lesson is tactile. What a better way to teach your teen than by a teen?

I graduated high school in late October of 2012. I am not currently in college. I am working twords bettering my future. I enjoy helping others and I find it easy. I used to be tutored and I hated it because the tutors seemed to not care if I got it. I make sure the person or people I am tutoring understand and remember how to do what I am asked to teach them. In high school my teachers used to send me to other classes and tutor kids in the middle of class. I am extremely flexable and can help just about anyone I try to teach. I will not say every because no one is perfect and I'm not going to pretend I am.
