During the last 10 years, I have been a Peer Tutor to University students, a Literacy Tutor with the Literacy Volunteers of America, and an individual tutor to local children. I have extensive experience with all types of writing skills: from poem writing, to letter writing, to business writing. My most recent work experience afforded me the opportunity to perfect my business correspondence. I work with the student's strengths to ascertain their learning style and then apply these to the area needing improvement. No one style will work for every child. Therefore, I work independently with each child's style and work to make a marked improvement in their success. My teaching style is focused on student achievement. Many parents complain that their child does poorly on tests. This is often a result of inadequate teaching practices which fail to recognize individual learning differences in students.
