A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with a 3.9 from Whitworth College in 1979. I taught a 1st/2nd grade class for three years. My teaching certificate is not current. I home schooled my 4 children- the oldest through 8th grade. My second son had a learning disability. I spent many hours researching the best methods of teaching him to read. He made the deans list his first quarter in college! I recently taught adults how to do enumeration for the 2010 Census Bureau. I lead a club for middle school students. I am responsible for planning and implementing activities and teaching, and supervising youth leaders. I can teach/tutor any subject except a foreign language or music. A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent 13 years working at Pacific Northwest National laboratory. During this time I have gained experience with several different types of chromatography systems and various mass spectrometers. I have developed several methods for sample analysis drawing on my chemistry experience. I have authorship on several peer reviewed journal articles and have written one book chapter as well.
Since I was in college at Eastern Oregon University I have enjoyed working with children to educate them and foster enthusiasm for the sciences, especially chemistry.
