I have taught students with a wide range of educational, social and emotional needs. I am very experienced in designing individualized curriculum and modifying grade level lessons. I believe that assessment of skills will enable me to design lessons that encompass all of the student's cognitive areas of development, and feel it is vital to address issues such as the student's personal interests and strengths. I have been an elementray school teacher in Texas for the last 8 years. I have primarily focused on reading/language arts, however I do have 3 years of math experience. I'm patient and recognize feelings when somebody doesn't understand. I really believe that understanding Maths or Physics is easy when the required background is present. It's like a chain where chapters are links required to continue to the next one. If you loose one it's hard to get other. That's why the first step is knowing the student's level. Once this is done I review what he is learning then I can make a plan to update him. When this level is reached the Student is ready to continue alone. Then follow up is important to asure that the person is able to become self contained.
