I did not realize I wanted to become a teacher until after I took a long-term substitute job while looking for employment. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and decided to further my education so that I could continue to teach. My undergraduate degree is in Mass Communications and Public Relations, which has helped me relate to all different students effectively and in different ways. My graduate degree is an Alternative Master's Degree in Secondary Language Arts. After completing my MS in Mathematics from CSU East Bay, I began tutoring high school students privately. Then, I taught Finite Math, Elementary Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra courses at Faulkner University and at Auburn University Montgomery as an adjunct instructor. This past year I taught high school math, science and Spanish at a Success Unlimited Academy (private). I also tutored K-12 students in math and science. I have successfully worked with autistic as well as children with ADD.

I start by asking the students to tell me exactly what is it that they not understand and start from there. I then like to work backwards from that point to find where they got lost. I also use everyday concepts to give similiar scenarios to get them on the right track. I find pleasure in seeing their faces light up once they come to understand the subject matter.
