A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minored in Chemistry, I received an excellent education. Until recently, I worked in a research laboratory at UIUC, studying ecology and evolution. Through my education and laboratory experience, I have gained a broad spectrum of knowledge in various subject with a focus in biology including, microbiology, and anatomy to general biology. A Little Bit About Me...

In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Drake University. Since then I began working as a case manager for people with disabilities. On the side of my job I have volunteered my tutoring skills to a few of my friends over the past couple years with classes like, biology, general chemistry, psychology, as well as physiology. I'm a student at Augustana College whose academic record has ranged from public school to home schooling to community college and and even private education. I've worked as a tutor for over 2 years at Black Hawk College, at the same time obtaining an Associates Degree. Throughout those years I've encountered many special needs students and many bright students, tutoring in subjects ranging from English, Math, Social Studies, to Computer Science.
I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process.
