Positive Experienced Tutor

I am the mother of 3 children, two with college degrees and one currently in college. I was very involved throughout my children's school years, volunteering in the classroom, tutoring, etc. I have also tutored privately since my children left school. Prior to having children, I was a Systems Analyst for Servistar Corporation, and returned as a consultant for them for three years betweent my first and second children.
While I am not a teacher by profession, I have successfully tutored a variety of leraners in a variety of subjects, primarily math, english, science. I enjoy working with people and helping them learn in ways that reach them and help them gain understanding and ultimately success. As a mother of three teenagers with distinctly different personalities and learning styles, I approach teaching in customized ways that help them open up rather than close down when faced with academic obstacles. I student taught tenth grade for a semester during my senior year of college at West Geauga High School. This experience was very valuable and prepared me for working with students in a variety of ways. I have a degree specifically in English Education and am trained to teach and tutor in all areas of Language Arts, including reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and grammar.
