I received an associate's degree in accounting and I am currently enrolled at Kaplan University in the Health Sciences program. I recently finished a course in College Algebra and I tutored four students. I also home schooled both my children from the time they were in grade school until they received their high school GEDs from a local community college. I feel that everyone has the ability to learn; but we all learn at different rates and in different ways. Teaching is my passion. My teaching style is to first evaluate the extent of the student's knowledge in the specific subject area and then start from the beginning and brush up, filling the gaps in knowledge. I work quite well with non-traditional learners and use props when I need to. Sometimes I find that this is the best approach for visual learners. I always look for alternative ways to teach a subject, if I need to. There is, after all, more than one route to the market.
