My teaching style is to discover what each student needs to learn in order to be successful. I teach in a way that is most effective with that student. I have found that students can make rapid progress when they have an opportunity to fill in the gaps of their skills and knowledge. Over the years, I have learned many strategies to help students acquire the skills they need. I help students to build on their strengths as they overcome their academic weaknesses. I have also learned that students learn more quickly when the lesson is interesting to them, so I choose reading material for a lesson with that in mind. I find that students truly enjoy their lessons, because they gain confidence and realize that they are able to be successful.

A Little Bit About Me...

I think that everyone has a propensity to learn a language and each student needs someone very patient to go down the path of language learning with them. A student learning a foreign language must speak the language a lot, so I will place an important emphasis on conversational skills. Once a student can converse correctly and comfortably in another language, they will have more fluency in their writing, reading and listening skills. There will also be an emphasis in authentic learning materials, and will consist of materials made by and for Spanish Speakers in Latin America and Spain. Above all, I love to work with people and like to empower them and get to know their life stories.

Trained as an Chemical Engineer at the University of Missouri with emphasis on math,chemistry and statistics. I have been a substitute in middle and high school amounting to 2 years. I have trained in industrial venues and led training over 7 years in quality and manufacturing.
