Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I have a B.A. in ASL. I was taught by Deaf professors and have many Deaf friends. I have worked as a Deaf advocate and am aware of not only the language but the culture, history, and social issues in the Deaf community.

I obtained my Associates in ASL then went on to my Bachelors in ASL. I plan to pursue a Masters in Social Work for Deaf and HH from Gallaudet University. I have taken several summer classes at Gallaudet to immerse myself in the Deaf world. I worked as a Deaf advocate in upstate NY and maintain advocacy ties within the Deaf community. I served as Vice President of Alpha Mu Gamma which is an honors society for foreign language. I was inducted due to my achievements in ASL. I am very passionate about ASL and the Deaf community. I spent a semester observing ASL classrooms with the goal to analyze the difference between hearing teachers and Deaf teachers. I have worked with two ASL clubs in order to advise the club officers on how best to involve students with meets of the Deaf community in a culturally appropriate manner, as well as to increase the clubs visibility on campus. Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I was born and raised deaf, in a deaf family. Attended Maryland School for the Deaf and Gallaudet University.

I am a well experienced tutor, since this is something I've been doing since the seventh grade. I also am proficient in language itself; I took courses in linguistics during college. My boyfriend has his Masters in American Sign Language and I work as a tutor on campus (I tutor English and foreign students learning ASL). I am very knowledgeable about ASL and Deaf culture. A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating from Strayer College, I had a very strong desire to continue imparting knowledge to students, as I had done in the past. I have earned a BA in Business Administration. I also have strong skills in elementary reading, grammar, spelling, phonics. I also concentrate in elementary math. Over the past 6 years I have tutored students in the subjects of reading, spelling, grammar, phonics, math, science, and history. I have also assisted in the completion of their class projects as needed.
