I have 10 years of full-time counseling experience and 25 years of part-time teaching experience. As a counselor, I work in a completely individualized way with each student- sometimes emphasizing tricks, techniques, timing and speed reading, sometimes emphasizing content.
28 years of tutoring for SAT. 15 years for ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, etc. I have devised unique guessing strategies for multiple choice tests that by themselves have significantly raised students' scores. More About This Tutor...

I graduated college in 1985 and then pursued many different jobs over the last 25 years. My degree in History/Political Science allowed me to be something of a jack-of-all trades in respect to my career. I have done both office work and factory work as well as customer service. However, my last job is perhaps most relevant to this position, because I was in South Korea for 3 1/2 years teaching English to South Korean children ages 5 to 15. Even though I do not possess formal training or certification in the United States, I learned hands on and developed my own teaching style that was both effective and fun for the kids so that they learned alot, and my boss was happy.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with all children. I believe all children have the capability to learn math and put it to use in everyday life, but in a variety of methods and understandings. I like the elementary range of math because I can use all the math knowledge I have acquired through my own education. I am available to help each child find academic success no matter what exceptions they bring to the table.
