My dissertation explored five hypotheses, and I found statistical significance in all five; thereby supporting the notion that adding online instruction to traditional instruction can improve student learning. What is called the "Affective Filter" is what I deal with most: that is the part of each student that is unwilling to try. My number one goal in teaching has always been to improve the students approach and mentality. All most every student I have tutored had the hidden, raw talent to succeed in school, but either lacked the desire or the vision to do so. I want students to see problems and concepts like how I do. I want them to be able to see all the options when tackling a tough Math problem or see all the implications when considering cell organelles. A Little Bit About Me...

I would describe my teaching style in terms of the activity, belaying. Slack is given to the rope at times so that the climber may advance, or traverse, the face of the mountain. When the climber feels tired, or incapable, the rope needs tightening so the climber stays secure. If the climber falls from the face of the mountain the taught rope will prevent injury or possible demise. I tend to give my students slack when I feel they are advancing in terms of curriculum, yet once I notice their tendency to rest, or falter, I tighten my teaching approach by using more straightforward methods so that they are not confused, or do not wear themselves out with struggle. This is all so they reach the top of whatever mountain they choose to conquer.
