Education has always been my field of interest. When my children were young (8 and 4), I've been teaching in order to match my schedule with their school hours and vacations. With French as my mother's tongue and because I studied in French, I was very excited about the opportunity to serve the Foreign Langage Program initiated by the PTA at Montgomery County Public Schools in MD. I've been teaching within this program until I moved in Western Maryland recently. In parallel, I was a substitute teacher with the county. I passed the PRAXIS tests(I, II, III). I taught also with BELL program in after school program to help students in DC public schools. I worked as well as accounting and went to college to get additional credits for the CPA exam. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in holistic education, one that connects the student to the world around him, using sight, touch, and sound. Research shows that multiple forms of input create greater pathways for learning and retention. I prefer to use realia, or "real life" tools to reinforce the learning process and make connections. I believe it is important for learners to see the relevance or purpose in learning, otherwise, fatigue, boredom and frustration set in. I am energetic, flexible and committed to analyzing and meeting the needs of my students in non-traditional ways.
I am the first college graduate in my family. In the last 18 years, I earned an Associate's Degree and a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics with a minor in Spanish. A Little Bit About Me...

The past 8 years I have worked for the Montgomery County and Frederick County school systems as a substitute teacher in middle and high schools.. An area of extensive experience was with the special needs students at both Linganore and Walkersville High schools. I taught a class in self-esteem skills for the SUCCESS program for Frederick County. I had a fair amount of experience with the ESOL program in Montgomery County in 2007. Prior to this, I had worked with the Public LibraryLiteracy program in Kansas City, Mo. as well as taught creativity and self-esteem classes.
