I believe that all students have the ability to learn if given the opportunity to learn. All students have different learning styles, and it is the teaches job to discover and teach students how to reach their potential. I have a friendly, firm, and fair approach with all students. I respect them, therefor they respect me. I am highly perceptive and use this as a tool when teaching students. I have a wonderful ability managing tasks, and developing valid beneficial learning experiences. I believe that students need to learn information correctly and with purpose. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan, where I studied English and Spanish. I chose a rigorous course schedule which allowed me to greatly develop my writing, editing, proofreading, and critical thinking skills. During my sophomore year of college, I began to facilitate creative writing workshops with youth and adults. This included editing and correcting for grammar as well as content, and providing useful feedback to my students. I continued with this work throughout college, and even after graduating. In addition, I taught an undergraduate course at the University of Michigan for the Program on Intergroup Relations. I was responsible planning and executing activities, teaching class sessions, and assigning and grading student projects, journals and exams for a class of 16 students.

In August of 2008, I was given the opportunity to teach three English courses at Mid Michigan Community College: (2) ENG 111: Freshman English Composition courses, and (1) ENG 097 course, which was designed to help struggling readers learn how to read a variety of texts throughout his/her college career. This teaching opportunity was a phenomenal experience for me, and I learned so much about myself as a teacher (i.e. strengths and weaknesses). At MMCC, I was also hired as a Writing Center Consultant. This job enabled me to work one-on-one with students regarding any difficulties they had with the writing process.
