I have my BA in social science and a Master's in counseling. I have been in the field of education for twenty years. I have taught in mostly middle and high school and am currently teaching psychology at Mid Michigan Community College. I have worked with youth in many different capacities. I have worked with 4-H, public schools, college, and volunteered in many areas. I am dedicated to and passionate about education and the process of learning. I recently received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan, where I studied English and Spanish. I chose a rigorous course schedule which allowed me to greatly develop my writing, editing, proofreading, and critical thinking skills. During my sophomore year of college, I began to facilitate creative writing workshops with youth and adults. This included editing and correcting for grammar as well as content, and providing useful feedback to my students. I continued with this work throughout college, and even after graduating. In addition, I taught an undergraduate course at the University of Michigan for the Program on Intergroup Relations. I was responsible planning and executing activities, teaching class sessions, and assigning and grading student projects, journals and exams for a class of 16 students.

All students deserve the right to learn, and it is up to the teacher to learn each and every students' strengths and weaknesses in the classroom and plan their lessons accordingly. It is important to create a comfortable learning environment so that students can be taught effectively. When students feel comfortable in the classroom, it is easier to build positive relationships with them.
