Success is Feasible

In 2011 to 2012 I worked as a lead tutor for Academic Achievers in Muncie. My core focus was to improve writing skills. I would help students organize their thoughts into a structured document, and on occasion I would help build their vocabulary with five words of the week. Currently, I work at the Muncie Children's Museum where I create programs for children to exercise their motor and critical thinking skills in the visual arts and music.

Tutoring for Elementary Children

I have never been a tutor before, but I am in college right now for a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have great math and English skills and would like to put them to use tutoring children. I am patient and great with children. I have worked with children for a very long time. I took courses in high school, where we ran a preschool and were in charge of teaching lessons. I have also helped my mother with her daycare for over a decade.
I am very patient and laid back. I don't like to stress anyone out, including myself. I will explain something as many times as it takes for the child to understand.

Have tutored peers and younger students starting in high school and continuing throughout my undergraduate. Fundamental understanding is what is most important. Just knowing which equation to use for a certain type of problem will not help a student succeed in future courses. Students should also know that repetition is the best way to master a skill.

Children are our heritage. Children have an innate desire to learn and I believe that with proper guidance, each child can be successful. I endeavor to determine what the child is interested in learning and build from there.
