I believe that applications to everyday life should be stressed if a tutor/teacher is to pique the interest of their student(s). Rather than stressing rote memorization, I believe it is more important to relate overall concepts in a "partnering" style. It is important to remember that one of the cornerstones of teaching is making the subject matter interesting and relevant to the student's experiences. I believe it is also important to focus on a student's strengths rather than their weaknesses. As in many areas of life, teaching also requires patience. From my experience, children benefit greatly from an easy-going approach where they are regarded as equals and treated with the utmost respect and dignity.

I have two B.S. Degrees, one in Humanities and the other in Technical Project Management. Computer experience - Microsoft classes and college courses in networking and web design. My most recent job I was an IT Project Manager. I have 15 years of experience in working with computers and computer applications. English - As a substitute teacher I taught English and Language Arts. I have taken several English/Literature courses in North Central University and at ITT-Tech. Math - College courses through Calculus. Science - College courses in Biology and Environmental Sciences. Social Studies - My humanities degree is in World Cultures. I have lived in Hawaii, Germany, and in Turkey.
