I recently graduated cum laude (3.704 GPA) from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay earning a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing. While attending UWGB I served as the fiction editor for The Sheepshead Review, UWGB's journal of the creative arts. My duties on staff included the critiquing of written work on a daily basis as well as copy editing. I am the author of the award winning short story "The Worm Atlas" which has been published in both Door County's: The Peninsula Pulse as well as The SHR. During my enrollment at the University of Arizona in Tucson, I tutored several students in advanced psychology courses as well as advanced English composition courses to undergraduates. I graduated from the University of Arizona with honors--a member of Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology and a memmber of Golden Key National Honor Society. After graduation, I tutored a high school student in geometry. Lately, I have been tutoring a fifth-grade student in math and reading.
I believe that applications to everyday life should be stressed if a tutor/teacher is to pique the interest of their student(s).
