Nicholas Sapounas born in Trenton, MI had first contact with music during his time attending the Middle Shcool-Highschool of Music and Performing arts of Larisa, Greece concentrating on guitar while attending the highschool Jazz big band, leading two independent rock groups(Sky Pup, Kos Markatos) performing and collaborating with artists in the community graduated in '2011 with intensions of pursuing a carrer in music in the United States. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is very student friendly. I engage the student in working out easy examples, which provide an illustration of fundamentals. Part of my process is to "walk through" an example with the student, showing them a process to solve a given problem. I then assign a problem for them to work out. This resembles a test-like environment where the student can figure out what he/she does not understand.
As a MSU graduate, I have experience in math up to linear algebra and abstract algebra. This includes calc 1,2, and 3 as well as differential equations. I also have taught at Michigan State University's Champ program, which is where I tutored algebra and geometry to advanced high school students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a hands on teaching style that mixes fun activities with an emphasis on asking children questions. I pay attention to each individual student and try to figure out what their learning style is. I try to center activities around how they learn (ie. if they are a textile learner, I'll bring in physical shapes to work on geometric problems as opposed to worksheets). I believe that application and explanation to others are the best route of learning, so I like to have kids who are at different levels work together on subjects they may have difficulties with.
