I received a BA in both English and Elem Education at Assumption College in Worcester MA. This has allowed me to qualify teaching at the Elem level, and also teaching English at the jr high and highschool level.I became a substitite for Gilford High right out of college. I worked as an eighth grade long term substitute for Math, Science and Social Studies for 5 months. Upon the teacher returning, I then worked as a 7th grade paraprofessional until we moved to Bakersfield, where I now have taught secod grade for the past two years at Carden School.I have worked with many different grade levels. Over the course of my career, I have taught a wide variety of courses for age groups K-12 which include: English, math, history, geography and English as a second language. I am quite comfortable with classes of different sizes, at different levels, and with various teaching styles. I incorporate the tactile, visual and auditory teaching methods. I have also taught adults to read in the adult literacy programs at many libraries. Some believe classes should be teacher-centered, where the teacher is expert and authority in presenting information.
