I love children and I love teaching children. I teach using a variety of methods. I have learned that children have different ways of learning. Some children are visual learners so I used plenty of visual aids when teaching these children. Some children are kinetic learners so I made sure that I used manipulatives when teaching these children. I believe that all children have a "best way" to learn. I determine what that way is, and then I taylor the way I teach to that way. I love seeing a child light up when they "get it". I love learning and I want to pass that love on to others. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I have a son with a learning disability whom I am now home-schooling. I realize that patience is key when teaching. I can teach many different styles to suit different learning styles. I truly believe in the mastery technique. My 9 year old has ADD and severe dyslexia so i have to employ many different styles to meet her needs. Being a great teacher is all about knowing and understanding your student and how they learn.
