As a recent graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, I am excited to begin helping high school and college students with math and science, as well as technical and essay writing. I have earned a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and a MS in Engineering Management. This curriculum has enabled me to gain a deep understanding of math and science used in both engineering and business settings. I have also learned extensive writing skills throughout my career both at Greatbatch, Inc and Lockheed Martin. Range

Before I begin to teach I like to attempt to understand how much the student comprehends about the particular subject. I prefer to teach globally and with examples. I would rather the student understand what is going on rather than memorizing a step by step approach. I also have found it beneficial to implement a reward system. I would like to let it be known that I would be in my senior year in college and do not yet possess a bachelor's degree. I have two younger brothers in middle school who I have been helping with math and science homework for the past few years.

I try to relate to the children as best as I can and make the learning fun for them whenever possible. I am easy going, polite and helpful. I also talk to them about other things besides homework and studying, such as personal problems. My students trust me and this makes it easier for me to help them and to teach them. Most of my students were high school freshmen and sophomores. Currently, I am a systems engineering graduate student at Penn State University. I have earned a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from SUNY Oswego with minors in applied statistics and philosophy. My last position was as an academic mentor and tutor for AmeriCorps. I have one year of tutoring experience at Hannibal High School in Hannibal, New York. I tutored students in subjects including mathematics, science and history.

I have worked really hard in my life to acheive the success I am enjoying now. I am originally from India and as many of us are aware India is churning out advanced degree individuals at a lightening pace. The educational system I grew up in was a very hard and intense system compared to the US standards, I personally feel for America to be competetive the education system should improve to competetive levels with countries like India and China. I have an extensive background in sciences (physics, chemistry and biology)and math, and since I never used a calculator till I was in college most of my approaches are tricks and tips which are very easy to undertsand and apply.
